Noel Tata and Ratan Tata are both sons of late Naval Tata, but from two different marriages. Ratan Tata was the son of Naval Tata’s first wife Sooni Commissariat, while Noel Tata is the son of his second wife Simone Tata, who is a Swiss businesswoman. Noel Tata has Irish citizenship. Took over the reins of Trent
Noel has served as the chairman of Trent, the retail arm of the Tata Group. Apart from this, he has played an important role in Tata International and other Tata ventures. Before joining Tata International, he worked at Nestle in the UK. Noel is credited with transforming Trent from a single store to a chain with more than 700 outlets across India. Unlike many in the retail sector during economic uncertainty, he prioritized profitability over rapid expansion at Trent Limited.
